Digital Collage
I suppose my collage work provides a refuge in which to experiment. Be it the rudimentary juxtaposition of photographic images, or a complex digital collage constructed from layers and bound by line drawings whilst acknowledging the cut and paste aesthetic to reflect the process of using found objects for my photographic projects,.
Digital work such as “Why is it…Like” is an homage to Richard Hamilton’s “Just what was it that made yesterday’s homes so different, so appealing?”, which has had a profound effect on my ideas and approach to making collage, as does Peter Blake’s desire to collect and celebrate ephemera.
